Hiker Meat, David Cronenberg: Transformation
CastUnknown
The new project from British conceptual artist Jamie Shovlin is a fabricated documentary about the imaginary exploitation film Hiker Meat, which Shovlin created by splicing together 1,500 separate sequences from myriad low-budget slasher films from the last 30 years.
Artist Jamie Shovlin has directed a documentary, Rough Cut, about a made-up 1970s exploitation film called Hiker Meat. The doc will create key sections from an imagined film by fictitious Italian director Jesus Rinzoli. The feature-length doc the artist turned filmmaker describes as a "metamentary" was writtten by Mike Harte, a fellow artist and writer.
