Bruce McDonald's first foray into the horror genre, Pontypool is an audacious adaptation of Tony Burgess’s 1998 novel about a deadly virus that takes over the small Ontario town of Pontypool. Grant Mazzy (Stephen McHattie), a washed-up radio personality, and his producer (Lisa Houle), along with their young technician (Georgina Reilly), must somehow defend themselves while trying to relay the news to the outside world.
