India is the setting for the documentary Pink Saris, which is being made for UK Channel 4 and continues the theme of strong women fighting against injustice. Shot in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, the doc centres on Indian activist Sampat Pal Devi (below) and her Gulabi Gang, a group of female vigilantes looking to bring greater social justice to India.

The gang has become famous for vigilante attacks - sometimes using sticks or axes - against men and women who have abused girls.
